The Himalayan Chetan Education and Social Welfare Society was co-founded by 7 like-minded individuals in Hamirpur district of Himachal Pradesh, with a shared vision of ‘Together we can change’.The Himalayan Chetna Education and Social Welfare Society is a registered society under the Society Registration Act, 1860 in the year 2004. In the beginning the name of the society was ‘Rajneesh Education Society’. But in the year the name of the society has changed to ‘Himalayan Chetna Education & Social Welfare Society under the HP Societies Registration Act, 2006. The head office of the society is located at Anu Khurd, district Hamirpur, Himachal Pradesh. It is about 2 Kilometre from the main city of Hamirpur on Hamirpur-Anu-Badu Road.

In the beginning the society started with the setting up of education institution to provide quality education to the children,especially underprivileged section of the society. With the passage of time, along with ensuring education, the society has flexed its wings in other areas relating to the social welfare. These includes, women empowerment, environment protection, sanitation, skill development, land development, awareness, etc. The society has achieved many milestones since its inception.
